The Administration for Digital Industries Led a Delegation to Japan to Assist Businesses in Exploring Opportunities for Collaboration in the Elderly Tech Market
To assist Taiwanese businesses in tapping into the elderly tech market in Japan, The Administration for Digital Industries (ADI) organized a "Japan Elderly Digital Innovation Exchange Delegation" from August 18th to 22nd, led by Director Lu Cheng-hua. The delegation met with relevant government agencies, industry organizations, and enterprises in Japan, aiming to draw on Japan's experience in promoting policies related to elderly tech applications and facilitate business negotiations and exchanges. As a result, the Taiwan Silver Cloud Care Alliance and the Japan CareTech Association signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), establishing a bilateral communication and cooperation channel for the elderly tech industry.
The delegation included members from the Industrial Technology Research Institute, the Information Industry Institute, the Taipei Computer Association, the Silver Cloud Care Alliance, as well as industry players such as Compal HealthTech, U-Care, Golden Smart Technology, Jieling Information, Guider Technology, and Longguwang. They met with Japanese government departments and industry representatives, including the CareTech Association, MONET, A10 Lab, and ExaWizards.
Director Lu Cheng-hua of the ADI stated that Japan has been an aging society for a long time. The main objectives of this trip were to understand Japan's policies on digital technology applications in an aging society and to assist Taiwanese businesses in understanding market developments and negotiating with representative Japanese enterprises to further explore business cooperation opportunities. The Japanese companies MONET and ExaWizards, which the delegation met, respectively utilize cloud services and AI technology to address issues in an aging society. A10 Lab specializes in health management and exercise habit-forming apps for the elderly, promoting social engagement and expanding from the consumer market to health programs for local governments and enterprises, accumulating considerable experience that Taiwan can learn from and potentially collaborate with as partners for entering the Japanese market.
The delegation facilitated negotiations and exchanges between 15 Taiwanese and Japanese companies, and facilitated the signing of an MOU between Xu Binxiang, President of the Taiwan Silver Cloud Care Alliance, and Miyamoto Takashi, Vice President of the Japan CareTech Association. Both parties will jointly promote a Taiwan-Japan elderly innovation service exchange platform, utilizing relevant forums and events to facilitate the exchange of business opportunities and innovative application solutions in the elderly tech market among member companies. This is expected to pave the way for more Taiwan elderly tech service providers to enter the Japan market, accelerating the expansion of business opportunities for Taiwan's elderly tech service industry in Japan.
